Prayer Team / Intercession
The Prayer Team Ministry
The Prayer Team Ministry exists to serve as a spiritual pillar of the church, sustaining in prayer every life, every family, and every purpose of the Kingdom. We believe that intercession is more than words spoken before God; it is an act of love, surrender, and compassion. It is a call to stand in the gap, placing ourselves between God and people, pleading for the Lord’s will to prevail.
“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30)
What It Means to Be an Intercessor
Being an intercessor means taking up the cause of another before God as if it were your own. It is feeling the pain, need, and urgency of a brother or sister, and persevering in prayer until victory manifests in their life.
An intercessor does not merely present requests but seeks to know the heart of God. It is in love and intimacy with the Lord that they find the strength to plead, persevere, and move the heavens on behalf of the earth.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
The Essence of Intercession
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16b)
Ministry Mission
To sustain the church in prayer, covering pastors, leaders, and members.
To be a spiritual army, fighting in prayer against the forces of darkness, declaring Christ’s victory.
To cry out for revival, healing, deliverance, and transformation of lives.
To intercede for the city, the nations, and the fulfillment of IPAN’s prophetic calling.
“Pray without ceasing.“ (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Our Identity
To intercede is to love. It is to feel the heart of God and to fight in prayer until His glory is revealed.
The Intercession Ministry of IPAN Houston exists to serve the Church and the Kingdom of God. We are a people called to live in the secret place, moving the heavens on behalf of the earth, until God’s will is accomplished: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
